Japan Shin-kan Co., Ltd., which manufactures aluminum extruded pipes and rods, would like to introduce a case study of the introduction of extrusion processing technology that achieved a 30% cost reduction. The problem faced by the customer was, "The occurrence of casting defects is adversely affecting the production schedule." The request was, "We would like you to produce a cylinder for a compressor." First, what we did was investigate the processing details using the current cylinder. The current processing method involved using cast material (AC4C) for cutting processing, followed by treatment with hard anodizing, and then internal diameter honing.
